HANDS-ON ACTIVITY: EXPLORING Personal Learning Environments (PLE)
Directions:
1) Click on the binder above and explore some of the most popular and emerging online personal learning environments (PLEs). Select the option that best suits your learning style(s) or create and follow your own option for exploring.
OPTION I Interpersonal, Bodily/Kinesthetic, Visual/Spatial, Verbal/Linguistic
Choose at least one online environment that interests you. Within the
environment, find and explore sub-groups of interest.
*Challenge: join the environment, create a profile, and/or post a comment.
*SUPER Challenge: create a new sub-group
OPTION II Musical/Rhythmic, Verbal/Linguistic, Existentialist, Naturalist, Logical/Mathematical
Watch at least two media presentations to learn more about PLNs/PLEs.

OPTION III Verbal/Linguistic, Intrapersonal, Logical/Mathematical, Visual/Spatial
Thoroughly examine one user guide to learn more about PLNs/PLEs.
"PLN Starter Kit" (under "More About PLNs" tab) "MoocGuide" (under "MOOCs" tab)
"Twitter as a PLN"(under "Microblogs" tab)
2) Log on to Edmodo and join the PLN group, using the code posted on the wall.
3) Report your findings by commenting to the related Edmodo post. Suggestion: Complete a SWOT analysis and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of your chosen environment. Also discuss opportunities its use presents and threats that may interfere with its use.
4) Read and respond to the comments of others.
